Low cost domain names, domain transfers & web hosting :
We've heard numerous reports that Go. com is banning or refusing
to accept additional submissions on many free Web sites such as
Geocities and America Online.
Regardless, it's worthwhile to have your own primary domain. Registering
your own domain name is easy, just about any Internet Service Provider
will do it for you for a small fee (usually around $30) plus a $70
fee by Network Solutions.
After that, hosting your Web site will cost you between $25 and
$50 a month or, about $300 a year. You'll easily make up the small
investment in increased traffic and revenue to your site. More importantly,
here are some other advantages to having your own domain name:
1. You won't have to resubmit your Web pages to all the search
engines if you change hosting providers. Without your own domain
name if you change providers your Web site address changes too.
2. You can have a more professional e-mail address, e. g., jsmith@
yourcompany. com versus hikerboy@ aol. com (or something equally
silly - we've seen these, really).
3. You can enjoy full traffic reports that help you determine
your Web site's success. |
